Baby

Whether it’s a royal heir or a new addition to the family, a new baby is always a pretty exciting thing. And while England’s royal baby didn’t exactly sneak up on us, he did just miss the mark on being born on the most common day of the week for births (Tuesday) and the most common month (September).

We were all babies once, and many of us are (or will be) parents. But there are some pretty interesting things about babies (aside from their adorableness and the miracle of birth, of course). Did you know that that tiny baby has more bones than you do? Because parts of the skull and skeletal structure fuse during that first year of growth, babies are born with 300 bones while adults have 206. We grown-ups, however, have the kneecap market covered: babies don’t have ‘em.

And babies can be expensive propositions! It’s estimated that the average American family can spend nearly $10,000 in one year on one baby. Of course, we’re here to help. Check out our Nursery Items category for furniture, clothing and other accessories for that new one – many of the advertised items are brand new or only slightly used.
